Hello, my name is Michaela! I was born and raised here in Sussex, Wisconsin and am a proud Wisconsinite and American. I grew up in a family of seven and have had a love for baking for as long as I can remember. I’ve always enjoyed helping my mom in the kitchen and in my free time now that is where you’ll find me (if I’m not entertaining one of my toddler nephews!) 
 
I bake at least once a week for my family’s pizza night get-together and everyone present, from the youngest to the oldest, seems to greatly enjoy taste testing my many dessert experiments. I enjoy the challenge of rarely repeating a recipe...unless it has been voted in as a family favorite! It has been my family, friends, and co-worker's encouragement that has given me the inspiration to step out in this baking thing I love and attempt to make a dream come true - selling my baked goods! To start, I will be selling homemade pound cakes, both personal and party size, with the hope of having a part in my community by opening an actual shop in the future!  
 
The Sweet House’s name and slogan "You are what you eat, so let’s make it sweet!” has a two fold meaning.  First off, I’m all about selling a baked good that caters to your taste buds and sweet tooth because, in moderation, who doesn’t enjoy such a delightful experience? Secondly, I passionately believe in passing around sweetness (in all forms) to others because, for so many, life could definitely use some more sweet! In line with this passion, each order placed at The Sweet House will include a free personal cake that I encourage you to pass along to someone who could use a little sweetness added to their day.
